Welcome to Our Centers!

FiftyForward operates seven centers in Davidson and Williamson counties for active adults age 50 and over.

Five of FiftyForward’s seven centers are accredited by the National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC). Of roughly 15,000 senior centers across the country, these five are among only 150 or so NISC-accredited centers. Our remaining two centers will become eligible to apply after they have been in operation a bit longer.

FiftyForward centers offer more than 100 instructional day and evening classes and activities for their members’ personal growth, health, wellness and community involvement. Some classes are taught at all centers; others are unique to a specific center.

Exercise classes can range from Tai Chi and yoga to the SilverSneakers®  Fitness Program, along with  ballroom, line, square or tap dancing. Fine arts classes include oil painting and water colors or specific-topics like portraiture. Creative writing, picture framing, foreign languages and computer classes are also popular. Special-interest groups cater to singles, couples, men only and women only.

Membership

Except for the Turner Center, where members’ dues are covered through their membership fees to our partner, the Bellevue Family YMCA, FiftyForward centers’ dues structure is calculated for the calendar year.

For 2008, annual dues are $75, plus a one-time joining fee of $25. Individuals who join later during the calendar year pay pro-rated dues. For specific information, please call the center in which you are interested. The staff will be delighted to arrange for you to tour the center and become better acquainted with their programs and services.

With the exception of FiftyForward Turner Center, membership at any of the remaining six centers enables participation among the other centers for most activities.

Rental

Most FiftyForward facilities are available for rental – for business meetings, weddings, showers and other parties, etc. Call the center in which you are interested and ask for information about rental opportunities.
