Funding Sources for FiftyForward

Since 1956, FiftyForward (formerly Senior Citizens, Inc.) has been a leader in providing programs and services to enhance the lives of older adults in Middle Tennessee. The agency’s work is possible through the generosity of the community – through individual and corporate contributions, plus grants from a variety of resources that include these primary funding sources:

  • FiftyForward annual fund campaign and capital campaigns, as needed
  • Membership dues
  • Program fees for special classes (most classes are taught by volunteers)
  • Special events at the centers or at community venues to benefit our programs
  • Crown Affair (an agency-wide event)
  • Rental/use of center facilities
  • FiftyForward Travel trips
  • Forward Focus advertising
  • Senior Center for the Arts/Nashville Dinner Theatre ticket sales and sponsorships
  • Donations through this Web site
  • The United Way of Metropolitan Nashville (see below)
  • The United Way of Williamson County (see below)
  • Metro Nashville Government
  • Metro Arts Commission
  • City of Brentwood
  • Williamson County Commission
  • Victims of Crimes Act
  • Department of Human Services
  • TDMHDD
  • GNCRAAA
  • Corp. for National and Community Service
  • Private foundations
  • FiftyForward Endowment
  • Organizations/Corporations
  • Gifts from individuals, couples and families
  • Churches and civic groups

FiftyForward has a strong reputation for the wise, efficient use of all resources. Donors continue giving to us year after year because they appreciate our careful and wise stewardship of our resources.

Even with this strong support base, we must work year-round to develop new sources of support in order to meet the growing needs of the burgeoning older adult population. No gift is too small. The need has never been greater.

United Way Support

Davidson and Williamson counties

Through the years, FiftyForward (formerly Senior Citizens, Inc.) has been grateful for the financial support of the United Way – for our centers and programs in both Williamson and Davidson counties.

In addition, we welcome designated gifts individuals make to our agency through United Way annual campaigns. (In some cases, employers will match employee designated gifts).

The following FiftyForward programs receive annual assistance through the United Way.

United Way of Metropolitan Nashville
