accredited by the National Institute of Senior Centers
FiftyForward Donelson Station has received both local and national recognition, including the National Council on Aging’s competitive 2004 Photography Award and the Frist Foundation Innovation in Action Award in 2005.
In addition to a very busy class schedule including low impact aerobics, yoga, tai chi and Walk with Ease through the Arthritis Foundation®, FiftyForward Donelson Station has cooperative arrangements with McKendree Village for water aerobics. We offer an extensive list of health and fitness classes including Zumba and strength training.
The Mineral Gem Society offers more than 30 classes in lapidary arts including silver jewelry, faceting, scrimshaw, basic wire wrapping, cold connections, bead weaving and more.
Traditional activities also are offered at the center including pool, cards, games and bingo. Special events are plentiful and the center welcomes and hosts many community groups including the Donelson Hermitage Exchange Club. A full service hair salon, Ladies and Gents is also located in the center as well as The Palm Tree Cafe, a restaurant open to the public Monday-Friday, 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Call the center for more information, to arrange for a tour or request a copy of the newsletter. Information about classes and events for FiftyForward Donelson is also printed in Forward Focus, available at the center and at area public libraries.
