Welcome to FiftyForward Madison Station!

accredited by the National Institute of Senior Centers

In 1995, in response to a documented community need for a senior center, the Memorial Foundation purchased the land and helped Senior Citizens, Inc. (now FiftyForward) purchase a building – which opened in 1996 as the Madison Station Center.

Named “station” because of its proximity to railroad tracks behind it, FiftyForward Madison Station is a busy place. Among the most popular daily activities is working out in the completely outfitted exercise room, with equipment donated by the YMCA of Middle Tennessee when its Madison Y closed a few years ago.

Other exercise classes include yoga, tai chi, low-impact aerobics and the SilverSneakers® Fitness Program. For those who prefer to exercise by dancing, line dancing and ballroom dancing are offered.

Special interest groups feature a garden club, a ladies billiards club, a genealogy club, a men’s club and two very special musical groups: The Madison Station Silver Notes Band and the Madison Station Express (bluegrass).

Anyone interested in learning more about FiftyForward Madison Station is invited to call the center at 860-7180 to request a newsletter or to arrange for a tour. A calendar of classes and events is also published monthly in Forward Focus, available at the center or at area public libraries.

Special Events (Annual)
