FiftyForward Travel

We are pleased to announce a partnership with the FiftyForward J. L. Turner Center for motorcoach pickups.The East pickup is at FiftyForward Donelson Station, with the Turner Center (housed in the Bellevue Family YMCA) for the West pickup. (This applies to all motorcoach trips.) A minimum of 30 passengers per pickup is needed for each trip.

The slide show on our trip to Germany will be March 22 at 1:00 at FiftyForward Donelson. The trip to Germany is October 12-19. RSVP to Janice if you plan to attend the slide show. A slide show about the September 5-October 4 trip to Spain is set for April 5 at Fiftyforward Donelson Station at 6:30. Please RSVP.

The next Harrah’s trip is May 5. For a fee of $15 you get transportation and a
buffet lunch. FiftyForward Travel is headed to Savannah, Ga., May 9-13. The $499 member price includes transportation and lodging, eight meals and tours of Savannah and of Beaufort, St. Simon’s Island and Jekyll Island, S.C. We have reserved two buses. One will pick up at FiftyForward J. L. Turner Center, one at Donelson. Full payment is due at this time.

May 19-23 is our trip to New York City. The trip includes two Broadway shows,
Greenwich Village, Wall Street, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island. Cost is $2,149 pp/dbl and includes air.

June 4-15 is the National Parks Tour. This includes Scottsdale, Lake Powell,
Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, Salt Lake City, Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, Old Faithful, Sheridan, Bighorn Mountains, Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial. Cost is $3,399 pp/dbl and includes air.

FiftyForward Travel’s ever-popular Mystery Trip is June 24-25. Price is $279 pp/dbl. This includes lodging, transportation, all activities, 1 breakfast, 1 dinner. That’s all I can tell you about that.

The Pacific Northwest and California trip, featuring Washington, Oregon and California, is set for July 18-25. On that tour you will visit Seattle, Mount St. Helens Visitor Center, Portland, Columbia River Gorge, Newport, Bandon State Natural Area, Redwood National Park, Eureka, Avenue of the Giants, and San Francisco. Cost is $2,349 pp/double and includes air.

August 15-20 finds FiftyForward Travel in the Wisconsin Dells. A highlight of this tour is a visit to the House on the Rock. Cost is $640 pp/dbl with single and triple accommodations available. This tour will include the Wisconsin Ducks Land/Water tour.

The Swiss Highlights tour is October 6-13 and includes Montreux, Zermatt,
Golden Pass Train, Lake Geneva, Bern City Tour, Interlaken, Castle of Chillon, a Geneva City Tour, Gstaad, a Gruyère Swiss Cheese Dairy, Swiss Wine Tasting, six nights at the Montreux Palace, roundtrip airfare, and 10 meals. Rates are $3,199 pp/dbl for members, $3,239 pp/dbl nonmembers. Add $700 for single supplement. Spain’s Classic is September 25-October 4. Cost is $3,269 pp/dbl and includes air, Madrid, Prado Museum, Toledo, Cordoba, Seville, a Flamenco Show, Granada, Alhambra, Valencia, and Barcelona.

Germany and the Rhine River, October 12-19, features six nights in Heidelberg.
The tour includes roundtrip airfare, nine meals, a Heidelberg city tour, Heidelberg Castle, Rudesheim, a Rhine River Cruise, Middle Rhine and Lorelei Rock, Boppard Wine Tasting, a Rothenburg city Tour, St. Jacob’s Church, and Germany’s Romantic Road. Cost is $2,899 pp/dbl.

Also in October is a trip to Biloxi, Miss. Dates are Oct. 17-21. Cost is $399 pp/dbl. October 22-29 FiftyForward Travel will be in Hawai’i. Cost depends on the cabin type you choose. Ports of call are Honolulu, Maui, Hilo, Kona. Negotiations are proceeding for the 2011 trips to Tunica. Flyers will be sent out as soon as these trips are finalized.

2012 Travel

If going to the Holy Land has been your dream, don’t miss out on this opportunity. We will begin our cruise in Rome, stop in Alanya, Turkey, Limassol, Cypress, Haifa, Israel, Ashdod, Israel , Port Said, Egypt (including Cairo) and back to Rome. This 12-day cruise begins March 10, 2012 and ends March 21, 2012. Rates vary for the cabin type, but a single inside cabin is only $2,829, including airfare! The price is so good that it is going to sell out, so call Janice at 231-1235 for specifics or to make your deposit.

Please add $5 per day to prices if you are not a member of any of these organizations. We accept cash, checks or credit cards.

On the Road with Joan Day Trips

On the Road with Joan is going to Linden, Tenn., on March 19 for the Blooming Arts Festival, its popular early Spring event. More than 70 artists present creations that include carved wooden bowls, totem poles, hiking sticks, pottery, clay figures, stained glass, weavings and much, much more. Cost is $20 pp.

On April 30 the On the Road with Joan group will again go to the National Cornbread Festival in South Pittsburg, Tenn. Cost of that trip is $25.

On the Road with Joan features the Dogwood Festival on May in Winchester,
Tenn. Festival highlights include arts and crafts plus bluegrass music. The cost is $20.
