United Way Support

United Way Support

Davidson and Williamson counties

Through the years, FiftyForward (formerly Senior Citizens, Inc.) has been grateful for the financial support of the United Way – for our centers and programs in both Williamson and Davidson counties.

In addition, we welcome designated gifts individuals make to our agency through United Way annual campaigns. (In some cases, employers will match employee designated gifts).

The following FiftyForward programs receive annual assistance through the United Way.

United Way of Metropolitan Nashville

Five grants partially fund:

Living at Home Care Management – providing in-home assessments of needs, by LAH staff, followed by linking with services of the client to meet such needs as food, housing, transportation, health care, counseling and in-home assistance.

Living at Home Victory Over Crime – offering support services to older persons who have been victims of crime.

Living at Home Senior Companions – supplying support and companionship to individuals who live alone, to help them maintain or regain their independence.

Living at Home Adult Day Services – supplying a caring, safe environment for older adults who participate in social, exercise, and other activities during the week; transportation and social services are also provided, as needed.

Living at Home Meals on Wheels – delivering more than 27,000 meals annually by approximately 300 volunteers, including special deliveries on weekends, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Foster Grandparents – providing one-on-one loving relationships and support of senior adults for approximately 1,200 special-needs children annually.

“Reaching Out” – providing financial support to select FiftyForward centers for programs benefiting low-income seniors.
